Other Donation Methods
Many companies have programs through which they will match the charitable contributions made by their employees. Through corporate gift matching, your employer can multiply your gift to Opening Doors, making it go further. Check with your company’s Human Resource Office to see if they offer gift matching. (If they don’t, you may want to ask your company to start one.) If your employer does offer this program, your Human Resource Office should be able to provide you with a matching gift form to send to Opening Doors along with your donation. Complete your company’s form and mail it with your donation to:
Opening Doors
2100 Asbury Road, Suite 8
Dubuque, Iowa 52001
Opening Doors will verify receipt of your gift and return the form to your company for matching funds. Conditions and criteria for gift matching vary by employer. Some companies offer a payroll deduction plan. For more information or if you are not sure if Opening Doors qualifies for your company’s gift-matching program, call us at 563.582.7480 and we’ll be glad to send information about our mission and programs.

Opening Doors has an endowment fund at the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque. The Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque will accept contributions made to Opening Doors Endowment or the Peggy Crahan Endowment (which provides summer programs to our children) on our behalf. The Community Foundation staff will assist with investment management and administrative details.
When Wish List items are donated, we are able to use operating funds for vital life skills programming. It is best to receive items that are new and durable enough to last for an extended period. Donations can be dropped off at Opening Doors’ Administrative Office which is located at 2100 Asbury Road, Suite 8 (Monday – Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM). Due to space limitations, donations of furniture or other large items can be accepted only if we are aware of a client in need at the time of the donation, and if storage of such items is not required. To arrange delivery, or for more information, contact us at 563.582.7480.
Opening Doors partners with St. John’s Church’s “Open Closet” program located at 1276 White Street. They provides free clothing and bedding to those in need in our community (including our clients). With the help of both the Teresa Shelter and Maria House I know I can do anything if I just stay positive and put my mind to it. With you having “Open Doors” there is hope for everyone who enters the programs.
