Our Doorways: A Continuum of Care for Women and Families

Teresa Shelter: Emergency and Extended Stay Support

Teresa Shelter offers immediate shelter through emergency and extended stay programs for up to 30 days. Women meet with a case manager within 24 hours to assess needs and set goals. They then have the option to transition to extended stay for up to a year, while working with a case manager to achieve goals. During this time women are required to save 30% of their income, promoting responsible financial habits for future housing expenses.

Maria House: Transitional Housing and Financial Empowerment

Maria House offers transitional housing for up to two years, nurturing continuous personal development and stability. Women must allocate 30% of their income, with 20% dedicated to personal savings and 10% towards an occupancy fee to Opening Doors.

Francis Apartments: Permanent Supportive Housing

Francis Apartments is our permanent supportive housing program where residents contribute 30% of their income toward rent, while Opening Doors subsidizes the remainder as needed. Additionally, ongoing case management helps women succeed on their own.

Real Impact: Four Families Thriving in Permanent Housing

In the last year alone, Opening Doors has moved four families into the Francis Apartments after they excelled through our programs. Their success is a testament to our process. They continue to thrive thanks to access to a long-term system of support and the Opening Doors community.

Open a Door to Change

Every program at Opening Doors plays a vital role in creating lasting change for women and families in our community.
