Why Take a Tour of Opening Doors
A tour of Opening Doors is more than a walk through our space—it’s an opportunity to understand how stability, structure, and compassionate support change lives. When you step inside our programs, you see firsthand how our program-first approach creates pathways out of homelessness through intentional case management, accountability, and trauma-informed care.
Tours build awareness, break down misconceptions about homelessness, and turn community members into informed advocates. By opening our doors, we strengthen community understanding, inspire collaboration, and foster long-term solutions that benefit women, children, and the Dubuque community as a whole.

Tours are offered Monday–Friday from 12:00–1:00 PM, a time selected to respect the privacy and daily routines of our residents.
With the help of both the Teresa Shelter and Maria House I know I can do anything if I just stay positive and put my mind to it. With you having “Open Doors” there is hope for everyone who enters the programs.
